CHARDONNAY

2006 Auteur Donum vineyard Chardonnay - $59.99*bottle -Auteur’s Donum designate wine comes from the classic Old Wente Clone established on the estate in 1974. This wine is crafted with 100% Old Wente offering its signature acidic framework with vibrant floral and stone fruit aromatics and a lingering mineral finish. Managed by veteran viticulturist, Anne Moller-Racke, Donum Estate sits in Sonoma’s cool Carneros appellation where rattling winds slow the ripening process creating delicate and graceful wines. WINEMAKER'S NOTES: Rich floral aromatics of white lilac and honeysuckle, weave into citrus tones, fig and baked apples with high notes of minerality. On the palate, the round, textural, satiated mouthfeel is enticed with a yin-yang of penetrating flavors. Fresh with acidity and refined tannins, the Donum again, gracefully winds into a lasting, lingering mineral finish, classic of the Old Wente Clone.

2007 Buehler Russian River Chardonnay - $150.00 cs/12(12.50) - "born in the Wood Vineyard, located on River Road, and River Vineyard, located on East Side Road. The floral, mineral, and lime aromas of the River Vineyard are complemented by the peach and apricot aromas of the Wood Vineyard. Our winemaking philosophy remains the same since we introduced the Russian River Chardonnay in 1993: less intervention is better with chardonnay. Winemaking techniques including sur-lie aging, lees stirring, full malolactic fermentation, and the measured use of some new French oak are employed to bring you this delicious rendition from Sonoma's premier chardonnay appellation. The 2007 Russian River Chardonnay spotlights the floral/lime quality of the fruit aromas and accents them with toasty, graham cracker sur-lie qualities. The mouthfeel is creamy and full but the natural acidity of the Russian River fruit carries this velvet textured package to a long, clean finish."

2007 Cakebread  Chardonnay - $499.99 cs/12(41.67) -
Conn.Guide 1 Puff "mild note of oak on nose wit ample ripe apple, very good varietal character.

2006 DuMol Chardonnay Russian River - $79.99*bottle - Parker 93pts."The 2006 Chardonnays follow suit, with the 2006 Chardonnay Russian River beautifully floral, with plenty of honeysuckle, citrus oil, mineral, and hazelnut. It is ripe, fleshy, and altogether a delicious example of this varietal that should drink nicely for 4-5 years."

2007 Figge Chardonnay Peilo or La Riena Vineyards - $450.00 cs/12(37.50) - Wine News 95pts. "Pale white gold color with a bright and complex bouquet emphasizing minerality and citrus. Lovely hints of lemon peel on the nose, and on the palate a very subtle citrus impression underscored by crisp acidity in perfect balance with abundant fruit. Hints of graphite and white peach enter on the exceptionally long finish. An elegant Chardonnay that is rich without a trace of heaviness."

2006 FLOWERS Chardonnay Sonoma Coast - $499.99 cs/12 ($41.69) - Connoisseurs' Guide One Puff/90pts. "This nicely defined bottling is concentrated and fairly compact in both its aromas and flavors, and, while not a wine that explodes from the glass, it counts plenty of depth and real fruity muscle to its credit. Its glimmers of minerals and neatly placed oak raise real expectations for complexity to come, and, from our present perspective, there seems little doubt it that it will grow famously for as many as four or five years."

2005 Lynmar Chardonnay Russian River - $30.00*bottle - Connoisseurs' Guide 2 Puffs (91 pts.) "Keenly focused on youthful appley fruit that combines plenty of depth with a brisk, bright appeal and a complex mix of toasted oak and creme brulee for support and range, this vital bottling is very well-balanced on the palate in a supple yet fully energetic stance. Fairly long at the finish and showing the eager fruitiness of its first aromas, the wine is destined for several years of wholly enjoyable service."  Hugh Chappelle, Wine maker with Paul Hobbs Consulting.

2005 ROMBAUER Chardonnay - $378.00 cs/12 ($31.50) - "a rich wine with layers of tropical fruit, peaches and pears. The fruit opens up into creamy textures of apples and pears that glide across the palate. Hints of citrus and light oak tones highlight the wine's lingering finish."

2006 Silverado Chardonnay Vineburg (Carneros) – Retail $25.00 – SALE $99.99 cs/6(16.67) - "ripe apple with orange blossom, vanilla, and light oak aromas. In the mouth stone and mineral echo on the palate with balanced acidity and pure silk which leads to a long zesty finish." Wine Maker Notes

2001 Domaine Carneros Brut Sparkling by Tattinger - $25.99 bottle - SALE $249.99 cs/12(19.99) - Connoisseurs' Guide One Puff 89pts.”Fresh, mildly creamy yeast verlies elements of lemon and pear in the quiet, slightly sweet-leaning nose of this fairly rich wine, and much of the same can be said of its well-mannered, very slightly fruity flavors. At the sweeter end of the scale for a Brut, it is gentle and foamy in feel, and should be right at home as a mealtime companion to a wide range of minimally spiced Thai and South Asian seafood dishes.“
